Pan Jeong-hun, a demigod son of Apollo, was an immigrant fresh out of college. He left camp some years ago in order to pursue his career in being a psychiatrist. He ended up as an intern in a certain mental hospital in North Korea. At first his job seemed to run fine, until he realized the horror of being a sheep tossed into a lion's den. Jeong-hun received nothing but maltreatment and belittlement from both patients and nurses alike.
Min-su, a newly admitted patient, was in fact an arsonist who pretended to be insane when the hands of law tried putting him to jail. It was for the reason that he set fire to numerous establishments around the southern coastlines of South Korea. His intent was to fake his death, so he also set fire to the hospital. In a desperate attempt to prove his worth amongst the workers, Jeong-hun tried subjugating Min-su. The attempt ended up with the latter burning his left eye; he wanted to kill Ji-yeong. He was lucky enough to escape his intentions and went home to Gwacheon up north the country.
He was reunited with his brother and sister, Ji-hun and Ji-yeong, respectively. They were the only family he's got, and being the breadwinner made him feel humiliated because his salary was too insufficient. His siblings understood him, yet he felt he needed to do something quick. With the help of Ji-hun, he was able to get a job as a janitor in a big-time club with local celebrities as regulars. It was far from what he studied at college, but it was still better than being penniless.
As he worked tirelessly, he came across two celebrity-looking women who always had fights in the club. One was named Shin Jae-hee, while the other was Asteria, posed as a regular. On one occasion, a drunk Jae-hee hit the other with a wine bottle. Jeong-hun came to the rescue, and Asteria gave back the favor. In due time, they had an intimate relationship, which bore them a child. But as soon as the conception, Asteria left without a trace.
However, tragedy struck when Min-su found out where Jeong-hun was living. In a single night of misfortune, his house was burned down to the ground, killing Ji-hun and Ji-yeong. He contacted the police to try and catch Min-su this time, and he was successful. Upon knowing Min-su's motives, the owner of the club decided to kick Jeong-hun out because his background with the arsonist proved to be a threat to his customers.
Just as when Jeong-hun realized he would die a beggar, he came across Jae-hee, as famous as ever. She immediately recognized him as the one who rescued Asteria. Jae-hee knew his situation, so she offered him to be her gigolo in exchange for money. With only money as his goal, he accepted the offer. However, being her gigolo didn't last long. In what like seemed to be eight months, Jae-hee captured Jeong-hun's heart.
A month after they became an official live-in couple, Asteria gave birth to her son with Jeong-hun. She named him Chin-hae, and she left him at the door step of her partner's condominium with the baby's name on a note. When Jae-hee found out Jeong-hun had a son, she was furious. She started spreading vicious rumors to the public about Jeong-hun, and nobody ever found out it was her. To keep any suspicions at bay, she pretended to take care of Chin-hae while he was around; when he wasn't, she just ignored him.
But that wasn't all. Min-su broke out of jail and headed straight for Jae-hee, who was actually his younger sister. He was the one who orchestrated the spread of rumors on a quest for revenge, and private connections inside the prison helped him. This was also aided by Jae-hee's anger on Jeong-hun. Soon, the rumors weakened the latter's grip onto reality, and he was then admitted to a mental institution not very far from the one who worked previously. The news spread like wildfire, so Jae-hee gave the three-year old Chin-hae to her brother to clear her name as much as possible. Satisfied with the results, Min-su decided to keep the criminal acts at a minimum, and went into hiding with Chin-hae in the suburbs of Ulsan. In the process, he changed his appearance to be not recognized, and brought along one of his friends, Yeon-hu, to help him out.
Chin-hae grew up knowing that Min-su was his father and that his mother died giving birth to him. The flow of money to support his studies, thanks to his father and partner's connections. Min-su started to soften as he spent time with his son, even though it came from his enemy. However, Min-su only made Chin-hae remember two places to go: home and school. The kid stayed obedient, yet always pondered why. Unfortunately, being secluded from the rest of the world made him naive and almost antisocial, which resulted to having very few friends.
When Chin-hae was 10, the tables turned when Min-su's location was detected by the police. In a final attempt to save his son from his stained past, he ordered Yeon-hu to take him back to Jae-hee. However, Yeon-hu didn't follow him, because he knew Jae-hee had bad blood on Chin-hae ever since. Instead, he went straight for the heart of Seoul and into an underground hideout once used by Min-su's men. He lied that his father was killed as they fled Ulsan, so that Chin-hae would stop asking questions.
However, the police was also able to locate their hiding place in Seoul three weeks later. In an attempt to escape them in a car chase, Yeon-hu was killed in car crash. Chin-hae, on the other hand, had a terribly bad concussion, leading to a rare case of selective memory loss, which was discovered after a year of comatose. The only things he was able to remember were his name, basic stuff (how to do this and that), and a few irrelevant memories.
As the police didn't know about Min-su and Jae-hee's blood relationship, they assumed he had no family at all. He was put into rehabilitation to try and bring back his memories, but the trauma he received from the crash was too severe, so it would take a really long time for him to recover. Finally, he was brought to a foster home with music therapy to help him calm down, adjust, and compensate for his amnesia.
As he received therapy in the foster home, his natural talent for singing and dancing surfaced, which stemmed from being Apollo's legacy. This drastically modified most of his personality and ever since, he dreamed to become a famous pop-star. But nobody ever really recognized his ambition, and because he had difficulty to express his thoughts, his hope turned stagnant.
He started to rebel against everyone, which turned out to be a bad idea. In an nth attempt to run away from the foster home at the age of 14, he was cornered by a hellhound. Luckily, he was saved at the nick of time by a huntress of Artemis. She left immediately because she had other things to do, aside from the fact that, like most hunters, don't usually accompany men. But before leaving, the huntress told him that he was demigod, and that he should find a way to go to camp. After that incident, he decided to go back to the foster home to save his life; he also decided not to share the event with anyone else, as they wouldn't believe him.
Over the next 2 years, Chin-hae decided to stay in the foster home, but no demigod was safe from monsters. On his 16th birthday, hellhounds, this time coming at a pack 3, attacked him. He received a few bloody scratches before a satyr, disguised as a caregiver, chased after the hellhounds. Unfortunately, the satyr never came back to pick him up, indicating that he was slain by the monsters. Chin-hae attributed his wounds to an accident when he was climbing a tree.
The day after the attack, he received news of Min-su's transfer to a maximum security prison in the US after attempting to escape once again. As soon as he saw his portrait on TV, a small bit of his memory started working. That sparked his will to seek for answers that had been erased by his amnesia. He decided to give another shot on his dreams on becoming a star, so he worked hard enough to be scouted by the Kim Lee Records. That achievement gave him freedom from the ignorance of the people back at the foster home. Surprisingly, his talent manager was Jae-hee herself, who didn't even recognize him one bit.
By joining Kim Lee Records, he wasn't just one step closer in realizing his dream, but also one step closer in unearthing his memories. He thought that by becoming famous enough, it would lead him to the lights of America, where Min-su was being detained.
Along with three more hand-picked teenagers, the members of the Generation of Miracles (fans shortened it to G.O.M.) were born, registered under the Kim Lee Records. The news of the new K-Pop band flashed across South Korea like a bolt of lightning, and many expected for heartily tunes that would hit the charts. Their uprising fame was steady and quick, considering the natural talents of the four members. In a few months, they were fully recognized by the Korean people, and international fame was on its way.
However, during their trip to one of their concerts, they were attacked by hellhounds, an amount more than one demigod can expect, considering that there were four of them in one vicinity. Fortunately, a group comprised of four satyrs happened to pass by and sensed their predicament. They were saved, and was told to go to camp. Seung Yoon and Ka-eun rejected the offer, placing their performance over the danger of being killed by monsters. After a lot of quarelling, Dae-Won, being the leader, decided to let Seung Yoon and Ka-eun go the concert's venue to hold it off, while he and Chin-Hae make private arrangements and preparations for their flight to the States. The satyrs insisted on coming with them, but they said that it would attract more attention, so they decided to meet at New York.
Seung Yoon and Ka-eun took a cab to the concert venue, but the driver had other intentions. In actuality, the mystery driver was a mercenary sent by a rival recording studio, who had a really bad blood with the Kim Lee Records. The long feud for fame fueled the rival studio with enough rage to take down the members of the Generation of Miracles as their greatest threat yet. The driver drugged them with hypnotic substances dissolved in water, which seemed like harmless drinks at first sight. The demigods were isolated inside the very plane the four have meant to use.
On the other hand, Dae-Won and Chin-Hae were already done with their preparations and headed to the concert venue to meet up with the others, without even knowing that the plane they have arranged had been used to hold their friends. But when they got there, Seung Yoon and Ka-eun were nowhere to be found. Their worries were intensified when the mercenaries found a way to broadcast their bait to them on the concert stage's large screen. Dae-Won and Chin-Hae unwittingly took the bait by deciding to save their friends. They went for the private plane after that.
Upon arriving, they confronted the captors, but they were incapacitated quickly. The pilot was actually a henchman of the mercenaries, and he operated the plane to take off to fly them to the US for human trafficking. During the plane ride, Seung Yoon managed to cut off his bonds and rescue Ka-Eun before one of the mercenaries caught them. Ka-Eun was accidentally shot dead, while Seung Yoon bled to death after receiving five bullets. When Dae-Won and Chin-Hae found out about this, they awakened to their powers out rage and killed everyone else, but during the rampage they damaged the plane's engines, causing it to plummet to the sea.
When the plane crashed with a burst of fire, the aviation petroleum tanks caused a spill on the water, and Chin-Hae was unlucky to swallow a very large amount of its contents. Dae-Won, on the other hand, was severely burned, and after a few minutes of fighting for his life, he drowned and sank in the dark waters. Chin-Hae floated mindlessly on a piece of the wreckage, slowly dying from poisoning. By the time day broke, he succumbed to its effects.
When the demigods haven't arrived at the time expected, the satyrs decided to find them when a flash of light appeared before them. From there were the four demigods, reborn as spirits/nymphs: Kae-eun a light nymph, Seung Yoon a moon spirit, Dae-Won a healing spirit, and Chin-Hae a dream spirit. After their transformation, they decided to stay at camp for a while to take a time off and think of their next move.
